Liva's Candy

Another rainy day. I spend my times blogging to dig some inspirations :) Then I stop at Liva's blog. She got unlimited creativity and her projects is stunning. So I follow her blog and fortunately she's offering candy..yey!! Seeing distress inks and embossing powders make me very very enthusiast. Those two tools are must-have ingredients to make fab LOs and cards. I think I can't live without ink and powder..LOL. Plus, she add lots of ProMarker. I'm still learning how to use and coloring image so this candy will absolutely help my learning phase
Here's the sweet candy:

Hoping so much I can win her candy :)

Stay Young

Helloooooo....
Here I go again. Hope this doesn't make you bore to tears..LOL. Today is one of my best friend's birthday so I made a special card for him. I really hope he likes it :)
First challenge, he's a guy. Making card or layout for a guy is not "my thing" before. But since my favorite color is earthy brown and my favorite theme is vintage, so I guess it's not gonna be too difficult. Then I start my card. And this is what I got:
Okay..okay..I heard your protest (LOL). It's not boyish 100%. But I got the inspiration from Oasis' song called "Stay Young" which I put into my card title. It's an alternative song, mostly guys like it :) It's one of my favorite song too. And the dominant color, brown and black I think a guy can handle it (at least I'm not using pink or purple). Hahahaha...you are welcome to laugh.
Now into the details. First I cut a piece of paper from Bo Bonny Time Piece series, make borders from EKSuccess border punch, then glue to the base paper. Then I put black ribbon on the Bo Bunny paper. For base paper, I use one page from DCVW Tattered Time stack. It has embossed part on bottom edge.
So this is the idea: At the first time, I would like to put wording "No matter how fast time's ticking, stay young." But then I cut the phrase into "Stay young" but the idea of putting some time symbol embellishments still remain. And this is what I made. A card with three watch at the right side :) I made layer effect on two of them by putting foam tape. Just to make a few dimensions.
For the glimmer look, I arrange some beads (it's black anyway) on top, making a swirly pattern according to the paper behind it. I bought the beads not long a go from a traditional market near my home. As you guess, it is very very cheap. Like it :)
The title "Stay Young" just as my wish to my best friend. To stay healthy, stay happy, and stay young. Happy birthday, dear friend :)

Happy memories

Here I go again. New day, new project. Well, I have to admit that now I'm kinda have more time for my hobby. Thanks to this remote village (what a choose of language..LOL) which is far away from hectic world, or far away from "the world"..haha. Since I'm not wasting my time caught in traffic nor doing other things like going to cinema or "mall traveling," it is time to satisfy my passion. Yup, scrappin!!!

So, my latest project is scrapping photos from my wedding celebration. Actually, I had some photos of the day that being scrapped, but I still got lotssss more to scrap! Yeahhh...

For this project I use paper from Bo Bunny Timepiece series. These are great papers. I love the colors, motif, even the idea to display lots of "tic toc." Because I chose latte brown paper, I printed my photos in sepia tones. Hope it's not a bad idea :)
It was our happy memories, when I was throwing bouquet and we did first kiss in front of public! Let me show some details of this page:
I'm using chipboard with black glitter accent as photo frames. I put thin glue on chipboard then cover it with black glitter. I chose black to keep this page's center attention to the photos but everyone will notice a special effect when taking a closer look :) Beside photo frames, I also use chipboard for title part "Happy." Also, I topped with black glitter.
I put lots of embellishment at the side-bottom page. I use metal, lace, ribbon, die cut, flower, and sentiment to make my page merrier but still in same nuance. When I really have to choose, lace is my favorite embellishment! I love the way it makes my page look elegant and sexy :)
I roll casually top-side page to make "peeking" effect. I put metal embellishment (key and leaf) on one side and make it full-distressed on other side.
The title: Happy memories. Hope you all like it.

Time flies, memory remains

Living far from my family gives me chances to miss them, and to think about how much they mean to me. My mom, daddy, and my beloved brother. Yes, I miss them so much. Okay, enough with these sentiments..haha..

I'm making a page that shows my childhood. It was a nice moment and a wonderful togetherness. Fortunately, I brought some old photos..and...I buy a new stack of paper! Yeyy!!! Thankful for this online shopping era :) I buy Tattered Time stack from DCVW. It is a very very great stack..love all the pages. This page contain some new things for me, such as glitter accent and recycle-paper flowers. So, here's my page, called "Time flies, memory remains," with romantic vintage yet girly theme. Please enjoy.
The paper itself is already marvelous, so I don't have to squeeze my brain to think about layout. The picture taken when I was 4,5 years old, so it was 25,5 years ago! Wow, time really flies...
This is the part I love the most: chipboard with glitter! Recently I buy lots of glitter, thanks to my friend whose bring them far form Jogja :) I think next I'm gonna make a lot of pages with glitter on it.

I cut pages into small tags, make a hole at center top, then tie with lace. I colored the lace with distress ink. Then I cut photos into small pieces and adhere to tags. It's a new creation from me :) And cause I'm a "daddy-girl," I make my dad's photo special for this page..haha.
Here's another new thing: I made my own flowers. Like I said in my previous post, I'm starting to run out of lowers. So I tear some pages of old magazine (actually it's my friend's magazine..sorry..LOL), cut into petals shape, coloring it with acrylic paint, glue each petal layers, and add embellishment at center top. Voila! Here comes my recycle-paper flowers. And other recycling thing is an almost thrown away cardboard piece that I use in this layout.
The title. I made from cutting paper and Dymo label makers. It gives more romantic vintage nuance. Hope you like it :)

Happy new year!!!

Hello 2012. I made a card to welcome this year and may the entire year surrounds with happiness, laughter, joy, and color. This is my card, but the most important thing is: Happy new year everyone :)

Because I'm hoping this year to be more cheerful and full of laughter, I made a card with colorful paper and materials. Well, I'm kinda "new" with this colorful things, as my previous projects mostly use natural-earthy tones or monochrome style. But, it worth to try.

Here's the detail. I bought this cheap foam tag from Paper Studio, when I was still in Jakarta. And I tie and "hang" the tag with lace, one of my favorite lace, then adhere it on paper. I put words: happy, sweet, colorful on tags, and put the words new year on the edge.
And finally I use ribbon on the bottom of my card. Hope you enjoy this card and the whole year round :)
